Signs your water pump needs replacing

Look for coolant leaking from the pump body or its small drain (weep) hole, an engine temperature that keeps climbing, a whining or grinding noise from the front of the engine, or a pump pulley that wobbles or has play. If you see any of these, have the pump checked before running the engine under load.

Step 1: Find your exact engine model

The engine model is printed on the engine nameplate or tag, usually on the cylinder block. Kubota models look like V2003-T-E2BG or D1105-E2BG. John Deere models look like 3029TFU20 or 6068HFU55. Do not order by series alone (for example “3029” or “V3300”): different models in the same series can use different pumps. Match the full model with the “Engine Compatibility” shown on each product page.

Step 3: Replace the gasket with the pump

Fit a new gasket whenever you change a water pump, so the joint seals properly. While the system is open, it is also a good time to replace the coolant as recommended in your engine manual and to check the drive belt and thermostat.
