The right gasket or overhaul kit depends on your exact engine model, and a wrong match can mean a leak or a repeat repair. This guide helps you choose between a gasket kit, an engine overhaul kit and a maintenance kit, and lists the Kubota and John Deere ones we stock, matched by engine model.

Which one do you need?

  • Gasket or cylinder head gasket kit: for a leaking joint or when the cylinder head has been removed. Look for coolant or oil leaking at the head joint, white smoke, or loss of compression.
  • Overhaul gasket kit: the gaskets for a full engine overhaul, when many joints are opened at once.
  • Engine overhaul kit: for a full rebuild. Check the product page for exactly what each kit contains.
  • Maintenance kit (1000, 2000 or 2500 hours): the service parts for a scheduled service interval.

Step 1: Find your exact engine model

The engine model is printed on the engine nameplate or tag, usually on the cylinder block. Do not order by series alone (for example “6068” or “V3300”): different models in the same series can use different gaskets and kits. Match the full model with the “Engine Compatibility” shown on each product page.

Step 3: Fit it properly

Clean the mating surfaces before fitting, use new gaskets rather than reusing old ones, and tighten bolts in the order and to the torque given in your engine manual. A new gasket on a damaged or warped surface will not seal, so have the surfaces checked when a head has been removed.
